Underwritten by Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) in AL, AR, AZ, CA, DE, ID, MI, MO, MS, MT, NE, UT, VT and WI. In all other states, policies are underwritten by Aetna Insurance Company of Connecticut.

What is covered?:

PetsBest offers one comprehensive plan for pets which can be tailored towards pets needs. There are no upper age limits meaning that whether senior or puppy/kitten, pets will be offered the same coverage. Petsbest offers two plans: PetsFirst and PetsBasic. Petsbasic is more affordable but offers a lower per-incident limit. Coverage for both plans include:

• Hospitalization
• Surgeries
• Emergency treatments
• Specialist treatments
• Prescriptions
• Cancer
• X-rays, CAT and MRI
• Lab tests
• Injections

Limited coverage for:
• Hereditary conditions (if enrolled before the age of 2) – NOTE: not all hereditary conditions are covered, please consult PetsBest to find out which conditions are included in policies.
• Acupuncture
• Chiropractic care

Moreover, a wellness plan BestWellness™ can be added to coverage. It includes:
• Spay/neuter
• Teeth cleaning
• Vaccinations
• Annual exams
• Heartworm test
• Fecal tests
• Blood panel
• Urinalysis tests
• Flea, Tick and Heartworm prevention
• And more…

Are pre-existing conditions covered?:

Pre-existing conditions are not covered.

What is not included in plans?:

• Pre-existing conditions (illness and injuries that began before enrollment or in the waiting period)
• Congenital conditions
• Preventable conditions (e.g. obesity or any condition that could have been prevented by vaccination)
• Elective procedures
• Special food or supplements
• Breeding
• Alternative therapies
• Parasites
• Injuries or accidents that could have been prevented (i.e. cruelty and/or neglect or repetitive damage)
• Dental care
• Mortality expenses
• Conditions caused by racing, fighting or guarding

Any vet can be used.

Policy Duration:

12 months.

Deductible:

Per incident$50, $100, $250, or $500 per incident deductible.

Pricing:

Starts at $16/month. Plans reimburse 70%, 80% or 90% vet bills after a deductible. Pricing depends on plan, location, breeds etc. Per incident limit of $2,500, $7,500 depending on plan choice. Additional Information:

The company has community partners which it supports in its mission to provide the best possible pet health conditions. Organizations that are supported by PetsBest are the Idaho Humane Society See Spot which organizes a See Spot Walk every October. They participate in these walks to raise money for this charity. Other organizations supported by the insurance company are the Pet Education Project, the Rescue Train, the Morris Animal Foundation and the Skeeter Foundation. And, also support many organizations that limit euthanasia and that provide assistance to pet owners who cannot afford medical care.
