Healthy Paws was founded in 2010, after its founders Rob Jackson and Steve Siadek met at an animal shelter in Seattle, Washington. They emphasize that it is a mission-driven insurance company that puts pet care first through its values of compassion, connection, communication and commitment.

What is covered?:
Healthy Paws offers one plan for dogs and cats, for both the insurance covers:
• Hospitalization
• Surgeries
• Prescriptions
• Lab testing and diagnostics
• Congenital conditions
• Hereditary conditions
• Hip dysplasia (as long as dog is enrolled before the age of 6)
Are pre-existing conditions covered?:
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
What is not included in plans?:
• Pre-existing conditions
• Routine and preventative vet care (includes vaccinations, flea/heartworm control, nail trim, grooming, titer tests)
• Spay/neuter
• Parasite control
• Dental health care (unless dental injuries resulting from accidents)
• Anal gland treatments
Any Vet?:
Any vet can be used.
Policy Duration:
12 months.
Deductible:
Annual deductible of $50, $100, $250 or $500.
Pricing:
Starts at $15/month. Pricing depends on plan, location, breeds etc. HealthyPaws does not have a maximum lifetime, annual or incident payout. Co-pays of 10%, 20% or 30%. For more information please refer to our comparison table to get a free quotes.
Additional Information:
Through its foundation projects, pet adoption groups are supported in helping to provide homeless pets with new homes. HealthyPaws announced on its website in 2012, that Healthy Paws Pet Insurance and Foundation supported over 65 pet adoption groups by providing over $250,000 in resources, professional services, and donations meaning that over 20,000 homeless pets found new homes. Moreover, the company is launching the Every Quote Gives Hope™ program in 2012 which promotes the importance of pet insurance and the chance of offering homeless pets shelter through obtaining a quote with them.
