“ This term was first written by Claes Virgin, Founder of Alliance, in 1890. It focused on horses and livestock.

In 1924 the first per insurance policy was offered to a Swedish dog. (we’re not sure what breed or wether it was male or female.)

In 1947 the first policy is made in the UK and pet insurance sky rockets, becoming wildly popular. The Uk currently has the most pets insured at over 19% of all house hold pets holding an insurance policy.

1997 The Hartville Group starts offering pet insurance policies as a partner of the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

2001-2005 Pet insurance keeps gaining popularity in the USA as vet prices go up and more pet parents learn the value of pet insurance.

2006 ASPCA Pet Health Insurance launches providing pet parents the opportunity to protect their pets.

2007 Pet Insurance keeps growing more every day. Is your pet protected?
